After my little scare in the hospital, Yanbo took me grocery shopping.

This is what I wanted to eat: bagels w/butter, red velvet cupcakes, Cheetos, ice cream, cookies, apples, fried chicken, bacon, and YUMMY FOOD.
This is what I got from the list I wanted:
This is what it was replaced by: 9 grain bread, lean sausage, sourdough bagette, spinach, bell peppers, peaches. and other NOT AS YUMMY FOOD.

He decided that I need to be healthy.. so he made a quick lunch. Pictured above: orange juice, milk, olive oil/vinegar dipping sauce for bread and grilled sausage, and red pepper hummus. Which, admittedly, was really yummy. I also snuck in my own treat at the end... a cup of milk&cinnamon toast crunch (and a few spoons of double chocolate gelato).

I've convinced that to be TRULY Asian-American, your household must have both the rice cooker (you know, the kind you buy from 99 Ranch Market or your local Asian supergrocerymart)... and this. The water heater. It's like an always-running kettle, without the noise.

I use this to make instant milk tea in the morning.

First time I was ever in the ER. Basically, woke up nauseated. Got ready for work anyway. Vomited. Called the office, no response, decided to drive to work to let them know I wasn't going to make it. Never even made it.. pulled over vomiting like crazy & had to have Yanbo call a friend to come get my car and me. Threw up/slept for the next 8 hours.. woke up vomitting like crazy again around 2am... got driven to the ER by Yanbo (poor kid). He sat next to me for the next four hours as I lay attached to an IV drip. To be honest, I was really scared for myself. I was literally in and out of consciousness, and certain points I was pretty sure I might not have made it (if I didn't go to the ER).
&someone died a curtain next to me. Wow. Riverside hospital is so much... more... interesting than the Irvine one. I remember people talking to me, and a nurse telling Yanbo I looked like I was going to pass out.. but it was okay. I'm alive! Yay! Was discharged at 8am... thank you Yanbo, and the world.

Super super cute keyheads I picked up at the Mad Platter. They have some seriously interesting stuff there. These glow in the dark! It makes it pretty convenient when it's dark out & I'm looking for the right key. &look, they even match my key chain.

Thursday, September 16, 2010

Yanbo came home today! YAY! I love him <3 He got me some Terra Cotta warriors... look at how... well they guard me. hahaha. I'm so glad for his safe return, back to me!

Wednesday, September 15, 2010

I've made this for my door ever since 2nd year of college... can't believe I have it still. But it's going on every door that I live in!

Yes, I see my cell on here. But hey, I'm sure all of you who read this already have my number. After all, it's on facebook.

Tuesday, September 14, 2010

No, I did not make these chicken-and-leek dumplings. These are actually store bought.. much easier to make. Just throw them in some boiling water, stir until it boils.. and yummy! You have some instant dumplings. You can fry them, too.. it's yummier but messier.. and I hate cleaning up HUGE messes.

Monday, September 13, 2010

I'm really bad at swallowing things that are gross. Food, pills... if, for whatever reason, something tastes off.. my brain screams NO!! and I gag.

Luckily, for my health, someone came up with the idea of VITA GUMMIES FOR ADULTS. I love this stuff. It was buy one get one free, and I bought 4! That's enough for 4 months! Hooray ^^

Sunday, September 12, 2010

Cute earrings that I reallly love. Only 10 dollars at Icings! I love that store.

Also, I'm sure most of you know about Marie Calendar's pie of the month! If not, it's one of their special pies for only 6.99! This month was Banana Creme Pie. YUMMY <3

Moment of silence for 9/11.

RIP, always.

No picture for today, but I will add in an extra one tomorrow for 9/11.

Friday, September 10, 2010

Remember how I said something about cute things and Asia? Well, this brand.. harajuku.. is something like TokiDoki or whatever. Asia-cute. I feel like Asia-cute is going to be the next "trend" to hit the market. Maybe because despite this recession, Asian-Americans are still snapping up expensive trinkets like turkeys and crickets. I couldn't resist... it was 50% off. Haha. Also, it was part of the Snow Bunnies collection. I usually stick with Estee Lauder as my signature scent line, as I prefer their perfumes, but this one smelled okay. It was mostly REALLY REALLY CUTE.

Thursday, September 09, 2010

So when Irvine High is getting furloughed, what does our city decide to spend money on? FIXING THE STREETS... that don't even need to be fixed. This is what my street looks like. Before they fixed it, it looked... the same. Just less dark and new. However, I will give them props... for what it took UCR the past 5 years to do (re-lay the streets), it took Irvine about 5 days... and perhaps 100x the amount. Haha. GO UCR!

Wednesday, September 08, 2010

Yes, I may have a penchant for makeup. Maybe I would spend the money I had, given a choice, on some dashingly wonderful concealer from Estee Lauder. However, I was never big on masks. Someone gave this sample to me, though... so I suppose I'll make the best of it & use it... eventually. Not sure when I want to use a skin whitening under eye bag..

Tuesday, September 07, 2010

Believe it or not, this is my contacts case. Isn't it so cute?! The most adorable things come from Asia, that's for sure.. haha.

Monday, September 06, 2010

Yes, this is another one of those infamous circle contacts. I actually picked this one because of the green color. It's actually quite a pretty green, and very apparent despite my eyes. Going to make a great part of my Halloween costume!

Some people have addictive personalities. Perhaps you know someone like that? They can fixate one person, one game, one pet... one passion. Then, they'll chase it. They'll follow it, they'll strive to do the best that can be done.

I think I sort of have an addictive personality. All it means though, is that I must be careful what I decide should be my passion. Mostly it's harmless, like LoL. So this is the picture before every game when I either am happy or sad, depending on who is on the other team. I think in this game, I was a little apprehensive about Akali (I've met amazing ones), but we ended up ROFLstomping the team. So yay!

Saturday, September 04, 2010

This is how I decided to decorate my wall. It's a little lopsided but it was really spur-of-the-moment.

Friday, September 03, 2010

I completely stole Yanbo's light for my room. But it looks so good here. I might just keep it forever.

On it is.. in order:
Pills (the legal kind)
Wallet / scented candle / GUMMY VITAMINS (sooo yummy)
Ayn Rand's Fountainhead/Atlas Shrugged and my Warcraft series novel
Prep books and a lot of novels.

Thursday, September 02, 2010

This is what my desk looks like. Well... my home away from home away from home desk! Back at the library.. same study room, too.

Wednesday, September 01, 2010

When I moved to my new place, I forgot most of my kitchen stuff. So... I'm eating my breakfast out of a super cheap cup! Mmmm cinnamon toast crunch... the best <3

Tuesday, August 31, 2010

UCSD has a much better view from the study rooms, but oh well. This is fine, too, I suppose. As seen from the science library 2nd floor.

Monday, August 30, 2010

The coffee cup is my very first coffee cup. I think it will see much use.

Sunday, August 29, 2010

This cooking is really yummy... I miss my mom & grandma's cooking so much. =[

Saturday, August 28, 2010

Yes, it's sort of ghetto, but it's my little treasure. Lots of delicious recipes, perfect for handing down generation after generation.. okay maybe just my generation.

Friday, August 27, 2010

Most well-behaved dog I have ever seen. I think Teddy may be even more well behaved than Dinner.

He's so cute. I miss Dinner so much.

I dropped Phyl off at the airport today and had lunch with Tiffany and her father. All concerned fathers are the same, I think.

Thursday, August 26, 2010

Tiff, me, & Phyl. Both of my cousins are really, really pretty. Tiff has the most amazing body (seriously), and Phyl has a stunning face. I've been told I have pretty hair. haha.

I really enjoy time with my cousins. As we grow older, we walk down very different paths and see things very differently... but I really feel closer to them. Also, a lot sadder.

Wednesday, August 25, 2010

LA today. I went to SM Entertainment to pick up something for a friend, and my cousin found a Chuck filming sign. haha.

LA always makes me feel a little... nostalgic. Driving past all those old freeways, places.. memories come flooding back.

This, drink, too. It makes me think of LA.

The skyline is beautiful. I sometimes wonder what life would have been like if I had done things differently. Would I have?

Tuesday, August 24, 2010

Disneyland today! Phyllis and her friend, Mike, both had two park hoppers.

Let's see. We went in, went on Indy, Pirates, Thunder, Splash, Space, Buzz. Then we headed over to Cali and went on Screaming, Mullohand, Soaring, Buzz3D, and Rafters. We ate, and went to see Fantasmic. Best show ever? I think so. Mmmm. So much food, so much fun.

Yes, I am very skinny. I realize this. I also realize I have no muscles. /cry

Monday, August 23, 2010

As I grow older, I realize that I look a lot like my grandma.

Now if only I could cook like her. This is my favorite dish, a cucumber and squid dish. It is SOOO good. The squid reminds me of tripe... mmm. nom nom nom.

Sunday, August 22, 2010

Among the many things we did today... we got xiao long bao today at Din Tai! SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good. I love this place... can't wait to go back (when I get a good car).

I met Phyllis' friend, Jessie, who is specializing at Loma Linda in pediatric dentistry. Her boyfriend is an oral surgeon. Power family O_O.

Saturday, August 21, 2010

Mmmm... red velvet cheesecake. I love the red velvet/cream cheese combo... it is so delicious! This is from the Cheesecake Factory at the Brea Mall.

My cousin came today from Minnesota. She just finished taking her bar, waiting for the results.

Friday, August 20, 2010

Panera is fast becoming one of my favorite hangouts. The fact that they have free wifi doesn't hurt either.

This was an AMAZING sandwich. Pricey, but delicious. I hope to re-create it at Riverside!

Thursday, August 19, 2010

There's nothing quite like a warm bowl of soup to help your hangover. Not that I had any, since I make sure to drink plenty of water... but still. Chicken tortilla soup from Panera. It was delicious, even though I prefer Islands.

Wednesday, August 18, 2010

This is the only thing I can drink on the rocks.

I put up alcohol since I went to ATB... and had four drinks.. and was wasted beyond belief.

It was amazing. Everyone sang together, danced together.. /sigh. I love ATB.

My little was amazing, too. It's strange how close we are... I guess there is a special relationship that comes from your college family.

Tuesday, August 17, 2010

Candid I took of Yanbo and our puppy as he put Dinner into his cage. I really like the lighting on this one.

Sunday, August 15, 2010

Curryyy. This yellow kind is pretty sweet, and tastes amazing cold or hot.

Saturday, August 14, 2010

Andrew, my little. Daphne, the sexy. Yanbo&I! We all went to get pho after I drove them down to Riverside. It was nice for my friends to meet.

Friday, August 13, 2010

If I had to pick a list of favorite drinks, Thai Iced Tea would definitely be on there. Something about this delicious, creamy drink is amazing.

Thursday, August 12, 2010

This is really, delicious soup from Best Thai. It's definitely one of my favorite soups.

Wednesday, August 11, 2010

This is my little bro, or adopted little, enjoying a mango smoothie. He's so old now!

Tuesday, August 10, 2010

Champion food. Some of my favorite food can be found here... "authentic" Chinese tea, sweet pork jerky, and BBQ squid jerky.

Yummy <3

Monday, August 09, 2010

When I found this book, my heart flipped.

I opened it, and I found the following:
November 2001.. in my handwriting.
But if you flip to the back, you'll see in gorgeous handwriting.. "For: Justina."

Two simple words, and two years of memories to go along with it.

He was my first love. My first boyfriend. Roger, a sweet, kind, little emotional (just a little) sweetheart.

We were at the book fair, and I read a little of this book. It was time to go... and I didn't finish reading, but I -really- wanted it.. but I think at that time I had no money or whatever. So I was like, whatever.

At the end of the day, Roger came up to me, and handed me the book. He told me that he noticed how much I loved it, and so he bought it for me.

We were 13? Young love. First love. He'll always be special to me.

Sunday, August 08, 2010

Homemade curry... sort of. I don't have the time to make the curry powder, so I use storebought. It's actually pretty good still... here is a simple dish. Nothing but potatoes, onions, beef & curry... over white jasmine rice. One of my favorite comfort foods.

Saturday, August 07, 2010

This is probably every girl's best kept secret. Long lashes are more important than almost everything... except, of course, clear skin! But you can't fake that.

I get a lot of questions from people about my lashes. Girls are always asking me how I do it, receptionists ask me if I get it done professionally, etc. I just smile and tell them they are fake.

But I honestly believe all a girl needs is clear skin, long lashes, and a smile. That's enough to make you look very polished.. naturally.

Friday, August 06, 2010

Attempted to make Lawry's creamed spinach. I actually really liked it, except that I put in too much flour. Next time I will mince the leaves more, put in more bacon, and put in less corn. I'll also give it more time to cook over the heat so the "cream" is .. creamier.

Today was exhausting.

9:00am: Wake up, shower, do makeup, eat, pack.
10:20am: Head to Riverside.
11:30am: Arrive at Riverside, drive to the library to print resume, drive to interview.
12:10pm: Interview.
12:40: Arrive back at AT, eat pho with Yanbo.
2:30: Head out to see house 1.
3:50: Leave house 1, get gas, see house 2. See house 2, leave.
4:00: Arrive back at AT, cuddle w/Yanbo. Hang up his clothes and get his work outfit ready when he showers. Thinks about mending blanket when I come back.
5:00 Drop Yanbo off at work.
5:20 Arrive home, take out both dogs to pee/poop.
5:30: Fill out Yanbo's rebate and mail it off.
5:40: Discover library is closed, drive back to AT.
6:00: Go out to Fedex print Yanbo's stuff
6:30: Go to Ralphs and buy groceries
7:00 Go home and clean (wash dishes, clean counters, etc). Begin cooking.
8:30 Finish cooking, finish cleaning. Yanbo's dinner is ready<3 Clean out fridge, throw out trash, and have his dinner warm&ready for him when he's home.
8:40 Arrive at BB to say goodbye to Yanbo, inform him of dinner. Drive back to Irvine.
9:30 Relax at home. Yay.

Dinner is always so happy to see me. Like... crazy hyper... bouncing off walls... haha. I love him.

Thursday, August 05, 2010

Wednesday, August 04, 2010

This is mushroom, sweet onion, and tomato over grilled chicken.
Just a dash of salt... no other flavoring. Oh, & some minced garlic.

It's a simple dish, but it's very delicious and healthy.

Tuesday, August 03, 2010

Okay, so I'm cheating a little with today's post. This isn't from TODAY... but I thought it was a wonderful picture of the bonfire we had at Corona Del Mar on Sunday.
I'm craving chocolate. Also, I have an interview for an internship with the state Senator. I do hope I get it!

Monday, August 02, 2010

They are paving the streets! Hooray! May I also add that it adds an extra 7 minutes to my commute? *sigh*

Sunday, August 01, 2010

This is the picture I took during the bonfire. There is another one I wrote with LOVE & another with Yanbo, but this one is mine. :]
